Shabbat

Shabbat, along with her brother Rabbi, was caught after running terrified around the streets of Ballinasloe in May. Both dogs were suffering with mange and ear infections but the saddest part was the fear, especially Shabbats fear.

At first we thought about rehoming them together but as time went on and they mixed happily with other dogs and also seemed content with some one-on-one from our team, we decided to appeal for homes of their own.

And it worked!!

Dee had been looking for a dog to rescue and reading her application we felt she was the perfect match for Shabbat. Shabbat had never really lost her fear of strangers so we wanted a quiet home where she could relax and grow slowly with lots of love and patience.

It has been a few weeks now since Dee and her mum Éilis came to collect Shabbat. They had visited our sanctuary quite a few times to get to know her and the change in Shabbat is wonderful to see.

At first Shabbat was scared of the many simple things in home living, such as entering the home but thanks to Dee and her mum she has overcome the many obstacles that held her back, proving that love, patience and understanding are key for some dogs to forget their traumatic pasts. We thank Dee and her mum for being willing to give Shabbat the chance to show them just how wonderful and loving she is ❤️
