Last weekend saw our big boy Trucker go home with the Hennelly Family. It took us a few months to find what we really wanted for our young, boisterous, lovable goofball Trucker but it was most definitely worth his wait. The Hennellys came to visit Trucker first without their existing dog Riley and they all fell in love with his playful, loving nature.
The next step was to introduce Trucjer to Riley and, with Riley being a little on the “fussy side” as to who she likes, we all held our breath. A quiet and slow introduction along the country lanes, away from the high energy of our sanctuary seemed like the best way to approach their meeting and for the first 5 mins we could hear Riley voicing her “opinion” 
. A while later both dogs, with Dad Declan and our own volunteer Lorna, appeared back up our drive and all were smiling!!!
It has only been a week but the updates we are getting are all amazing, showing two best friends having the time of their lives, as they play, paddle and relax in one another’s company. Trucker is also learning some basic commands and picking them up really fast. All he needed was for someone to see past his size, his puppy-like boisterous behaviour, at times, and be willing to put in the time and dedication.
We are so very grateful that he found the Hennellys and Riley and we thank you for believing us when we told you what a wonderful boy Trucker is. Enjoy every mad, magical moment
