Many of you will remember our Savita. In January a staff member responded to a call about an old collie that had been found lying on the road in Colemanstown. She was unable to walk, freezing cold, wet and close to death.

After nearly two weeks of intensive care at The Railway Clinic Vet in Loughrea and with many health scares along the way, Savita was finally discharged. She had fought so hard to overcome her abandonment and health issues we knew she was a true warrior.

Savita was lucky enough to find an amazing foster home, with the lovely Aisling and Terry and their 3 dogsm where she went from strength to strength under their loving care. She enjoyed walks, cuddles on the sofa and her cheeky side emerged.

Last weekend Savita got to complete her circle as she headed off to Dublin to start her “forever life” with her new dad David. A young man who saw passed Savitas age and past.

Six months ago Savita lay on a roadside, defeated and severely ill. It took the love and dedication of our vet team, our Galway SPCA team and her wonderful foster home to get her to where she is now. A girl who decided that she wasn’t yet done with life and who has a bounce in her step and a smile on her face.

Our grateful thanks to David for opening up his heart and home to the most amazing older collie girl.
