Picnic

12th Sep 2022

Picnic arrived from Mullingar Pound. He had spent quite a few weeks there waiting patiently for his chance after he was found straying in Co Westmeath.

The sweetest boy who was delighted to now have fields to run in and he loved nothing more than a game of ball. His other great joy was swimming and any chance we got we took him to the nearby River Shannon for a swim.

When we posted his arrival we received a call from a family who had been trying to adopt a spaniel for quite some time but always seemed to just miss out. They desperately wanted to rescue one, and not buy so had kept a close eye on the many rescues social media pages. Then they saw Picnic and although they knew it was early days, and he was currently under assessment with us, they reached out to see if we would consider them if they were a match.

A few weeks later we spoke again with Arthur and by now we knew Picnic loved the water, long walks and new adventures. We also knew that Arthur and his family lived in a rural setting, close to a Connemara beach and mountains !! Just what Picnic needed.

It has been a few weeks now since Picnic left with the Trahan Family to go and live his dream life. He has the beach and the mountains on his doorstep which he spends many hours enjoying. He has discovered human beds and comfy sofas but most of all he has discovered that he is loved unconditionally and now has a family to call his own who love him very very much.

Thank You to the Trahans for choosing (and waiting) to open up their hearts and homes to a rescue dog.

We wish you all many happy times together ❤️
