Magnet

Many of you will remember this little girl. She had a broken leg and was seen being dragged around by children in an estate in Galway. A kind lady intervened and contacted us. Magnet was approximately 4months old and had already endured cruelty and she did indeed have a badly broken back leg. Thanks to Tim, and his team at @All Paws Veterinary Clinic Limerick, Magnet had a successful operation to pin her leg back into place. It was then up to us to keep her crated for 8/10 weeks, with toilet breaks, to give her leg the best chance to heal.

Magnet was such an amazing patient for one so young and she was helped through her rehabilitation by her little lurcher friend Zeppelin and then little whippet boy Lando. Her rehabilitation went well and soon it was time for Magnet to start daily lead walking in order to re-build her wasted muscles.

A few weeks ago we started to look through our homing applications for Magnet and there were quite a few, all lovely and all willing to give her a forever home. But for us, one stood out. Áine and James had a dog called Millie and were hoping that Magnet would too join their family. 5 minutes into the meet and greet and we knew they were just the perfect match for our Magnet. Kind, loving, compassionate people whose existing dog Millie was their world. We knew they had so much love to give and that Magnet would blossom under their care.

It has been a couple of weeks now since Magnet went home and we love getting updates. She has settled in beautifully, loves the television and her walks but especially loves going to visit Granny, where she gets totally spoiled ? She and Millie are getting on great and Millie now allows Magnet to sleep on the human bed along side her and Mum and Dad. We really couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect match and, as Magnet isn’t too far away from Heathlawn, we are looking forward to seeing her out and about.

Thank You Áine, James and Millie for choosing Magnet to be the one to share your home, hearts and adventures ?#adoptdontshop #rescuedog #galwayspca Burns Pet Nutrition
