When the Clarke family spotted the post about our puppies they applied in the hope that they would be successful and find a new family member and friend for their existing cocker girl Tilly. But when they came for their meet and greet, poor Tilly was so overwhelmed by the noise, the strange place and people that she reacted fearfully and a little aggressively towards Eenie. It was a huge disappointment for the Clarkes and they were worried about Tillys reactions. But we could see that Tilly was totally overwhelmed by everything in our sanctuary and we knew the Clarkes could offer a wonderful home, so we did something we don’t often do. But we will always go above and beyond for our dogs, so we told the Clarkes that we would be prepared to bring Eenie to their home to see how Tilly acted in an environment she knew and felt safe in. And are we delighted that we did.
The moment Eenie popped out of our team members van into Tillys garden, Tilly greeted him like a long list friend. Her tail was wagging, she ran around getting Eenie to engage and was a totally different dog to the girl who visited our sanctuary. It was an absolute joy to see two pairs of ears flapping as they ran and played together. Needless to say our van was empty on the way home
We hear that both Tilly and Eenie, now called Banjo, are getting on great. Tilly is thrilled to have a new brother and Banjo just loves being part of such a wonderful, happy and loving home. It shows that sometimes you have to look beyond what you see first and take the time to give a second chance. Both ourselves, the Clarkes, Tilly and Banjo are over the moon with the outcome. Enjoy making amazing memories and thank you for choosing to adopt.
