Brocco was a victim of this year’s Ballinasloe Fair after he was rescued from the M6 motorway in the town. We managed to trace his past and found that he had already been in 4 homes in his lifetime and none of the reason changes in his homes were down to Brocco. He was, from the moment we met him, a true gentleman. Sweet and loving but most of all forgiving. Despite being passed from pillar to post, despite being let down time after time, despite arriving to us with an horrendously matted coat and with eye and ear infections, Brocco just wanted to love and be loved in return. And that we did.
When the time came to finding his forever home we wanted to make sure that we chose wisely for Brocco. We wanted his “forever” to be exactly that. The Harris family had adopted dogs from us quite a few years ago and both dogs had, by now, gained their wings though they still have Max, a small, lively boy. We arranged a meet up and from the moment they met, Max and Brocco clicked and spent the viewing playing and having the best fun. It has been over a week since Brocco set off home, his fifth home in his 7 years, and mum Fiona tells us that it is as though he has always been a part of their family. He is enjoying long walks, lots of playtime and most importantly, plenty of cuddles. We are thrilled to know that Brocco is FINALLY home forever
Our grateful thanks to Ballinasloe Gardaí who were instrumental in helping bring Brocco to safety, that Sunday in Ballinasloe, to our caring staff and volunteers who made sure Brocco understood he was safe and loved and finally to the amazing Harris family, who have given him the one thing he craved and deserved “Forever”.
