Little Beagle boy Bono was surrendered into our care last August. A naturally very shy boy, nervous and timid, it took Bono quite some time to settle. On top of finding his paws, Bono had to undergo corrective surgery on both of his eyes.
Bono made many canine friends at Heathlawn but as they all left to start new lives he was always let behind. As his acute shyness made him harder to home we called on our experienced fosterers, Jayne and Paul, and thankfully they agreed to help Bono learn about home life.
So Bono joined their gang and was soon having the time of his life. Learning new things everyday from the resident dogs, learning to believe in humans and, more importantly, himself.
Yesterday, Bono took the biggest step of his young life as he left the comfort of his foster family and joined his new mum and dad Caitriona and Padraic in his forever home.
Thanks to the love and patience shown to Bono by his foster family over the last months Bono was quietly confident as he started the next chapter of his life and we are forever grateful to our foster families for their dedication to our animals whilst in their care.
Jayne and Paul, thank you ❤️
To couples like Caitriona and Padraic who willingly see past what lies on the outside and see the true beauty that lies within and willing to be kind and patient working through the shyness, thank you ❤️
Not every dog is ‘ready made’ but they are all ‘made to be loved’.
