In December a very sad little Beagle girl popped up on the pages of Westmeath Pound. Jayne and Paul are one of our amazing foster families and also huge Beagle lovers so it came as no surprise when our kennel manager received a message from them saying they would offer foster space if we could offer rescue back up.
Aya, as she was christened, arrived into a home full of other dogs, cats, chickens and a whole lot of love. It took a little while for her to realise that she was now safe loved and that her days as a previous breeding bitch were well and truly behind her. She began to blossom but remained a quiet, somewhat shy girl though she learned to love her human cuddles.
Last weekend after reading through her applications, Aya had a meet and greet with Grace and Leo ,their daughter Julianna, and their two dogs, in the hope that Aya would think they were the right family for her. We knew that Grace and her family could offer Aya everything she needed to be happy and it was heartwarming to actually watch as Aya gave them all her approval. We hear that Aya is settling in well and is enjoying lots of cuddles on the sofa.
Once again it took teamwork to help give Aya the life she had never known before. From pound to rescue to foster to forever, we are so grateful to everyone who helped Aya on her journey.
