Tetley came to us in February when two members of our team went on a late night call to find him. He had been left on the streets with a badly broken back leg and only 4/5 months old.

It has been a long and, at times, stressful journey for our young boy as he went through surgery and then the long months of rest and rehabilitation.

Day after day he had to sit and watch his kennel mates go out on their walks whilst he remained in his kennel and it was heartbreaking to see his little face or hear his cries (and we all know how a Saluki loves a good old whinge๐Ÿ˜‚)

But thanks to the care, patience and love of our team, Tetley has fully recovered and over the last couple of weeks he has enjoyed the sweet taste of freedom in our back field. He waited so patiently for that experience and now we are hoping he can finally move on and get to experience some home comforts for the very first time in his young life .

Tetley is now 8 months old. He is a loveable, cheeky, naughty rogue who loves nothing more than playing, running, jumping, ripping up toys and generally making a complete nuisance of himself ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜. But he is also unsure, a little hesitant and scared at times.

He has barely seen anything of the big wide world, having sat for many months in a kennel at Heathlawn and before that we can only imagine his life was one of a shed or back yard, with little interaction.

Tetley is looking for a home with another kind, patient and playful dog but one who is wiser and a bit steadier in their ways, so they can help Tetley understand all the new things he will encounter on his journey away from the sanctuary. Also one who will say when โ€œenough is enoughโ€ as Tetley is understandably excitable and has yet to understand certain manners. He is after all, only a baby. He will need humans at home for most of the day (post covid) and he may be a little too full on for very small children.

He loves his cuddles and does sit peacefully and relaxed for an ear rub until something catches his eye and he is off again, at full steam ahead ๐Ÿคช.

Tetley is scared of cars and that could be because one was the cause of his broken leg, so we are looking for a home a little rural or one who will have lots of understanding and patience of his fear.

Understanding and patience will be needed in abundance for this cheeky chappie as Tetley will enjoy racing through his new home picking up anything that isnโ€™t nailed to the floor. Couches will be used as trampoline, food left unattended will vanish and dear Tetley will most likely make you wonder what the hell you have got yourself into, at least fifty times a day ๐Ÿฅฐ

But you will also have the most endearing, loving and comical boy who, as he grows and matures, will always be by your side well, that last bit is probably a white lie as he heads off into the distance after that unsuspecting cyclist๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Salukis are, more often than not, a law into themselves. You donโ€™t own them, they own you, but you will be hard pressed to find a more entertaining and loveable breed, once you have apologised to most of your neighbourhood for whatever latest antic they have got up too ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ
