Salah and Sofia, our two rough collies, are ready to start their search for their forever home together. By now most of you will know their background story and how they came into our care, in quite a pitiful condition. But that is in their past and now we, and they, are ready to start looking to a much brighter and better future.
Salah is 4.5 years old. He is an extremely sweet natured boy who willingly gives cuddles and kisses. He is a “follower” and though getting better, he does rely on Sofia for direction and decision making. He is so sweet natured and always aims to please.
Sofia is 7 years old and is a little more “aloof” than her best friend Salah though she has really started to let her hair down a little more as she has gotten to know us. Again, like Salah, she is very sweet natured and does enjoy a cuddle but like many females, she just makes you work a little harder for her attention
Both Salah and Sofia are chilled, relaxed dogs. They seem happy to go anywhere, once you get them loaded as they are a little nervous to get into the van but very easy to manoeuvre. They take most things in their stride and we have had them on walks in our local forest and brought them to our dog show a couple of weeks ago, where both seemed unperturbed by all the goings on, especially Sofia who strutted off leaving poor Salah to make do with his human
*Salah and Sofia are looking for a home together and we feel it would be best for them if they were the only pair in the home (though not ruling out other dogs entirely)
*They would love to have their humans around as much as possible as we feel they deserve as much attention as needed, though they can be left for a couple of hours.
*Salah and Sofia both seem to like and respect children
*They walk well on their leads/harnesses and enjoy their walks. Sofia is more of the pottering type and likes to take her time, Salah loves being stuck in the middle of whatever is going on.
*Both dogs will require regular brushing/grooming and, after what they have been through, any potential adopters must understand how important this is to their wellbeing.
*A fully secure garden
*Salah and Sofia must be indoor dogs only and as far as we know they have always been backyard dogs, so some patience and care may (maybe not) be needed to help them settle
*They may/may not need help with toilet training, they have done really well at times with this but living in kennels its not always possible for them not to have accidents.
Salah and Sofia need their new home to be their forever. They have been through enough and need a home willing to make sure that they get everything they need and more
We are all they have and we are going to make sure that they get a 5* home who are fully committed to these two wonderful, sweet, gentle and fun dogs.
