Lhasa, approximately 3 years old, arrived at Heathlawn after she was found straying on the streets. She had obviously had puppies and wasn’t in great condition so we can only imagine that her past was not the kind of life that she deserved. She is a light-framed, medium-sized dog about 16-17kg. She is possibly a collie/shepherd mix who loves to play with a ball. She plays a mean game of football. She has quite a bit of energy and loves to play and run but is also quite happy sitting down beside you.
She walks well on a harness. She has had her assessment walk in Portumna and she was not bothered by traffic. She did well meeting other dogs and greeted them very nicely. She could live as an only dog, as long as she has company around for most of the day. If there are children in the home, it would be best if they were over 10 years of age.
As she loves to play and be in company, she will need a fully secure garden and to live in the house as part of the family. Being part collie, she will need some guidance to show her the way of the world, but she is a clever girl and extremely willing to learn. Before arriving at Heathlawn she did not receive much love or affection but we have worked with her and she has been eager to learn and has become a very happy and loving girl. She can still behave a little nervously around men until she gets to know them.
Like a lot of rescue dogs she will need a home where there is time to help her adjust and patience to work with her to set a basic routine, to help her become comfortable with her change in routine and surroundings.
