Habba ❤️❤️

At the beginning of September Habba was picked up on the Dublin to Galway motorway, just outside Moate by a very kind motorist. She had sadly been hit by a car and was suffering with very badly broken back leg. One of our supporters was also travelling on the same motorway but in the opposite direction but quickly turned around and followed to the vets.

Habba was chipped to a local hunt and on learning that her leg was broken, leaving her “surplus” to them, they surrendered her into care. Habba underwent emergency surgery on her leg and has now made a full recovery.

Two weeks after her operation Habba was lucky enough to go into foster with Jayne and Paul, one of our experienced foster homes. Habba was a sweet girl but was scared and shy, with no knowledge at all of what it was like to be a ”pet”.

Habba has embraced family life with all four paws. She simply cannot believe just how wonderful it is to be loved and snuggled up in her foster home with the other residents and foster dogs. She even loves the family cats.

Habba has one of the most nurturing characters ever and when another of our dogs Bono, the very scared Beagle boy, joined her as another foster she took him firmly under her care making sure she was always by his side to reassure him.

Dotty the Dalmatian pup then joined the same foster home and once again, Habba was waiting to welcome her home ❤️

Her foster mum says …..

“Habba is the most amazing lady, sweet natured, loving, and has a crazy fun side too. Habba has been through so much in her short 3 years of life and has managed to still trust humans with all her heart. She is house trained, crate trained and walks superbly on a lead. She loves all other friendly dogs and she is also cat friendly. She loves snoozing the day away on the sofa or in front of the fire. She adores her food and treats. All she wants now is a home and sofa to call her very own.”

So now it’s time for the lovely, sweet natured Habba to finish her journey. One that will see her in her “forever home “.

Foxhounds are so often overlooked in this country, with many misperceptions surrounding them, so we would ask you look at the photos below to see the true nature Habba possesses, not her breed. We sincerely hope that we can find Habba her perfect home here in Ireland and that she doesn’t have to travel to find happiness🤭

So come on, let’s see if we can give Habba her dream.
