Old Man Carty was rescued a couple of months ago when he was a fearful, emaciated, foxhound boy. He had been straying for many, many months and his body and mind had shown just how tough life had been for him during his ordeal. After a couple of weeks at Heathlawn, Carty was lucky enough to go into foster with one of our regular foster homes and avid hound lovers, Jayne and Paul. At first everything was so strange for Carty but with lots of help and reassurance from his foster family he started to settle in and was soon one of the gang.
Now after gaining some much needed weight and overcoming some minor health issues, Carty is now ready to find his forever home.
*Carty is housetrained, crate trained and walks well on a lead
*He is able to live with cats though he does sometimes give chase to them outdoors but will do no harm
*Carty is a sweet and loving boy who just ADORES attention from both humans and dogs alike
*He also loves his home comforts and enjoys nothing more than sprawling across any available sofa
*A happy go lucky boy who is just starting to learn to play with the humans he knows and trusts but Carty’s attitude is that you are never too old to learn new tricks
*He loves his walks as much as he loves his food and has been known to steal from the worktops when your back is turned
*Carty will need a fully secure garden and a home where he will live indoors
*Carty would like another confident, kind, playful dog and a family who is around the house for most of the day and enjoys getting out and being active with their pets
*Carty is approx 8 years old. After his former life we believe only the very best will do for our loveable older gent.
Please complete an online adoption application form if you think you can offer Carty his forever home.
